finally a post on the blog... (1 of 3 new)

It's been weeks! But I finally updated our lives in these next three posts... Ever since we got back from Iowa we've just been busy. I played my Oboe in church yesterday, we are packing up to move, I'm getting back into the groove at work.... I mean, if I could just do this all day:I'd be set! (yea, she's not even stretching - she is dead asleep)

Some may have heard of the flu outbreak at the MTC. Today, we saw A LOT of MTC teachers, or roommates of MTC teachers at the student health center's Urgent Care(UC). I worked on Saturday in UC, and we had a lot of positive influenza elders treated. The goal right now is to slow down/stop the aggressive spread. That is why the families dropping off their missionaries this Wednesday won't be going in for the traditional video/speaker, etc. They'll just have to say good-bye before they get into the MTC. Which is a bummer, but it is in the best interest for the families. This stuff is nasty, and it is spreading quickly! Because I was around so many influenza A patients on Saturday morning, I was given Tamiflu today to take for the next 10 days as a preventative. I'll be working in Urgent Care all week, so I hope this stuff kicks in and I won't get sick!! I feel a bit special because the Student Health Center has been really short on tamiflu and it is back ordered. I got special approval, along with a co-worker that worked with me Saturday, to get the last doses they have! As the pharmacist gave me the prescription, he said, "If I get this stuff, I'm coming after you." I just hope I don't get sick, it's never fun. Enjoy the next two posts of updates... I'll try to be better!
