Sick

I haven't blogged in a while. . . We've been busy busy. Seth's mom came into town last Tuesday and flew back to Michigan yesterday. She came for a 10K race down in St. George that was last Saturday. It was a lot of fun having her here and great to be able to see her a bit here and there.

Saturday, Seth and I went down to St. George to see her race. We still regret not going to cheer her on when she accomplished the St. George marathon a few years ago. But glad we got down there this time. It was inspiring to see some of the people race through the finish line! Sandi did a fantastic job and came out first amongst her friends that she whom she was racing with! After the race we went around to a few of the Church history sites, it was neat to see Brigham Young's winter home, and the Visitor's Center.

Seth started getting sick last Friday afternoon. Poor guy. He was miserable throughout Saturday and especially Sunday/Monday. Then he graciously passed it on to me. I've thought that I really should have done more to prevent myself from catching his terrible cold w/ fever. . . like taken more Zicam and drank more EmergenC. But because I live with him, sleep in the same bed, and can't resist at least kisses on the cheek every hour - there was no hope!

Wednesday EARLY AM after waking up so many times in the night I kept thinking about calling in sick to work. then I've fall back asleep dreaming about calling in, and then I'd wake up again and think about it, then dream it again a different way, etc, etc. But when my alarm actually went off - I wasn't feel THAT bad so I went to work. Yea.... not cool. B/c I have so many hours of sick time I decided to come home and rest to try and catch this thing before it got out of hand. Yea... didn't catch it in time. It's been a miserable last few days. And I just used 3/5 of my paid sick time like it was nothing. Oh well.... at least I have sick time....

Sunday night i made fun of my husband who was feeling good with NyQuil kicking in and singing Alanis Morissette. He got pretty funny a few times... you can tell he just wasn't all there. Now I'm feeling that way too... it's been a while since I've been so sick. and it's just a STUPID COLD - I hate that part. at least I could have strep or an ear infection to say something for myself.

But anyway, I'm grateful for a cute cat that wakes up with me at all hours throughout the night to pace with me in the apartment when I just don't feel good and don't know what to do with myself. And she sits on my lap asking for my attention while I moan myself back to sleep on the couch. Or watches right by my laptop screen while I facebook to pass the time .... and her blinks get longer and longer and she's really sleepy but fighting it to keep me company. She's such a good one, and it's been the best to have her. I do have some pictures from the race in St. George, I'll have to add them to this post soon. Or maybe later today this post won't be here anymore b/c I'll read it and it won't make sense so I should just take it down.
