Our weekend...

Friday night... my concert was fun. I'm glad my grandparents and Seth went. Our friends Ali, Jed, Amanda, and Adam came too!! We went out to eat at the Purple Turtle afterward. It was a great time. Since my concert I've had "The Lord of the Dance" stuck in my head. IT WILL NOT LEAVE!! It's kind of driving me nuts... it's a fun tune to play, on the oboe - not in the head. Seth got a clip of the tune I'm talking about. I'm glad he got it! But realized after watching it that I kind of overpowered the flute, oh well.

This weekend was "scrapbook weekend". All my aunts and mom gathered in Michigan to just scrapbook. It's been an annual event for a long time. The location varies every year, and because Michigan is just too far for such a short time, I was unable to go. But I was invited to Grandma's to scrapbook with other cousins unable to make that trip. It was pretty much just me and the grandparents though. Which was great fun... Gpa really got into the Jazz game, so he supplied the background noise for us. And I got to look at amazing photos from gma/pa's Morocco trip. And heard some crazy stories/culture stuff. It was pretty interesting. I really stuck with scrap booking my heart out... We stayed up until 3:30am Saturday morning!! And then Seth and I headed to the Draper open house Saturday morning and got back by 11:30 for me to keep going on the pages. Total - I did 43!! I still have to go back and journal stuff though, but I did get something done!

The Draper Open house was amazing. It isn't small!! By any means. I loved looking at all the pictures and murals on the walls. It seemed like there was a new beautiful picture of Christ ever 10 steps. I was touched by the quality and detail to every little thing in every room. They showed a video at a stake center before you get on a shuttle to take you up to the temple. I especially enjoyed Elder Holland's testimony. He said something to the point of 'I cannot imagine glorious, paradisaical heaven without my lovely wife, and kids. It certainly would not be heaven unless they were there with me'. I am grateful to know through the covenants Seth and I made to each other in Nauvoo - we are able to be together as husband and wife for eternity, forever and ever! How great to believe in such power! It gives me lots of hope and the desire to stay so close, to keep his trust and be loyal, etc. I like him :)

I got home last this morning about 1:30. I have just been so exhausted all day. We had Ward Conference, which was fabulous. And then we ate chili and had ice cream with the ward! It was fabulous to have such good food right after church (out at 5pm). What a great weekend! Sorry there aren't any other pictures.... I know what's what makes blogs readable and interesting.

Wow 43 scrapbook pages...that is awesome. Scrapbooking is one of the few things that I have never tried. Thanks for sharing the video. It is great to hear when I live too far away to attend.
