Sunday, a day of rest.

On Sunday we taught the Sharing Time in Primary about Genealogy. It went very well! I always get stressed when I give a talk or prepare a lesson, etc. This topic was hard, I'm glad we only had 5 kids there. Seriously, try explaining the words ancestor, pedigree, genealogy to a 4 year old! But I think they got something out of it. We made an activity out of temple family name cards, pedigree charts, stories and scriptures. I'm so glad they were interested, I think because it was about families they felt they could relate to it, therefore they found it interesting.

On Saturday we had stopped by the Grandparents' house in Pleasant Grove on the way home from Ikea to grab grandma's amazing pedigree chart. I think that was the kids' favorite part! I think when we showed them that chart (it goes back like 14 generations) they kind of understood what we were saying when we told them they have more family passed their grandparents. It's always a treat to teach the young ens, they can be so hilarious, and they were. Once we got passed the little comments like: "I was a baby once", "do I have grandparents?", "My parents go to counseling", and "My brother is big size, I am medium size". . . and one sweet boy moaning "I'm so hungry!!!" and the rest of them joining in, clenching their lil tummies "I'm STARVING!" . . . it was a piece of cake.

Today is the last day of the month - we all know what that means, right!?! Visiting Teaching and Home Teaching all packed in one day! I am completely guilty of this!! Summer is hard too b/c of all the vacations, etc. but yesterday I went Visiting teaching twice, and was visit taught and home taught! whew!!! It was quite the day, I sure did get my fill about the message of the month. Packing this all in one day can get quite tiring. And there is one more appt for me tonight! SIGH, I think I'm suppose to learn something from this . . .

After our Home Teachers left, we ate yummy pasta made by Phil and played lots of games, so it was a very relaxing evening. Plus - it is fantastic that this week is only 4 days! We are excited for company to come for the 4th of July this weekend. With all the fun additions and fix-ups around our home, I'm pretty excited. Woo Hoo!!
