Out of Provo we go! All last week (and a few before that) we have been taking a load over to the new place in Orem. Our official move out date is actually today, but since we've technically had the place since the end of April, we've been able to move stuff over this whole time. It's for sure been the most ideal moving situation ever.
First off - a HUGE thanks to friends Phil and Sierra Cho for their help moving us. We got EVERYTHING moved with loads in our blazer and their truck. It went so smooth. AND - they even helped us clean our old place on Saturday, wow - great friends!!
Also, THANK YOU grandma and grandpa for coming by Saturday to help us clean the old place. We got the whole thing done in 45 minutes - amazing. They are fantastic help, and it's always fun to be with them. I'm glad they came by the Orem apartment to relax and see it all.
Okay - so this new place that we've been so excited about... it's turning out to be what we hoped for, and more. . . (only complaints: no garbage disposal and the shower is tiny!). Tour through pictures: (remember, we just got in there officially Saturday, so we haven't completely unpacked everything! And haven't decorated at all, it's live-able though.)
So - we walk through the back door into the kitchen, There is a door from the garage to our kitchen as well. (I love that there is a back yard!!) And you see this... Dishwasher is on the left, twice the counter space we are used to, stove, etc.
The laundry machine/dryer is in this little section off the kitchen. . .
Then you walk into the hall, on your right a few feet is the opening to the other section of it all. Here's the living room, can't wait to decorate. Favorite features being the high ceiling for a basement, and the fireplace.
This is the door that goes up stairs. There are three girls that live upstairs, and will be coming down into our place once a week to do their laundry, they'll pretty much just go through the kitchen, and see the living room, etc - but I'm not as worried about that as I was before. We'll have a schedule and know when they're coming. They're pretty cool and considerate so I don't see this as a potential problem like I anticipated.
Back to the hall way and down a lil bit, there's the bathroom - the shower is super tiny, but it's alright... It's very clean & easy to clean - so that's nice.
We have two super small rooms toward the back. This one will be the craft room ;) TOTALLY not unpacked/organized yet! I'm willing to share it with Seth's hobbies if he'd like - but I don't think he'll take advantage of it.
And the guest room.... just big enough for a full size bed... pretty cozy though. Raja likes this window in here the best, easily accessible b/c of the bed. She'll miss looking outside our Wymount windows all day, and the social interaction with our neighbors.
She's gotten a bit more comfortable with the new place. Last night we were chasing each other from room to room. I swear she is part dog, she gives kisses like a dog, wants to roll in the dirt like a dog, pants w/ her tongue out like a dog - not even kidding. She loves the papasan chair... and has claimed it, it super needs to be cleaned!! When we added the papasan chair to a pile of boxes to load up - she just jumped right in. I hope she always keeps that 'adventurous' side to her.
This is a slide show of the above photos, plus a few extra.... I tried to format all of this so it'd 'flow' but... it was a bit more difficult than I wanted to play with! So here it all really is:
