Seth and I went on our old ward's camp out Friday night. It was down near Mt. Pleasant at Bishop's log cabin. We had SO much fun! We drove down, friend's Alyssa and Jordan came along with us. After missing the exit we needed 4 times (it took us 40 minutes to get on the right road and officially on our way!!!) we were off for a very fun time. Great company too!
We got down there about 3:00ish? The cabin was soooo gorgeous, huge! A perfect place for their family reunions and Christmas getaways. We were so lucky to be able to go! There were a lot of games we could play, horse shoe, tomahawk throw, HUGE Swings, cards, etc. The swing set was seriously HUGE. Volleyball was a ton of fun! We played for a while. Seth played it all one handed and I was extremely impressed with his skills. Last time I played volleyball was two summers ago, and I did terrible! completely embarrassed myself... but this time wasn't bad at all, I had a lot of fun!
We had a subway dinner, s'mores at the campfire, and played a lot of games with the childless couples until about 1:00am. It was the most fun we've had with such a large group in a very long time!!
We have wanted to buy a tent for some time now, and this finally gave us a good reason to do it. It was fun to "camp" with Seth for the first time, we will hopefully be doing a lot more of it this summer! I love our new tent, we got it from Target earlier last week. We had a lot of fun. It was an adventure to sleep on the volleyball (grass) area with a dozen other tents around us. We fell asleep soon after our laughing fit that was joined in with 1-2 other tents that were awake - we all couldn't stop laughing, you know... those moments? (loved it) and then throughout the night there were some crying kids here and there, best of all though - 4:00am, the sprinklers went off!!! It was NUTS! Scary at first... and then just humorous. I'd hear it hitting the tent next to us, and then it'd start sprinkling on our tent and then full on spraying our tent like it was a big water hose going to put a fire out, then it'd sprinkle off our tent. Then we'd hear it come back... it was like "tink... tink.. tink tink tink THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP tink tink tink.. tink...tink" Yup - exactly like that. Which lasted maybe 10 minutes? Someone had gotten the bishop and turned them off. We didn't get wet at all, but I heard some people had puddles or dripping inside of their tent. We were lucky! It was fun though, I loved it.
We hurry and packed up after 7:30, got the yummiest pancake and bacon breakfast and headed back to Provo to enjoy Saturday's Events... It was an extremely fun time!! Fantastic memories! Wish I had taken more photos...
