Our Weekend

I kinda liked the rain we got this weekend - it wasn't the thunderstorms or down pouring that I would have preferred, but it was nice.

Friday night we were just hanging out and then quick went up to Pleasant Grove to watch cousin Mason so Grandma and Grandpa could go up to the Hospital to be with Alec and the family. We watched Over the Hedge with him, fun fun!

Saturday we had a super lazy morning - absolutely wonderful. Made a wonderful sausage/bacon/egg/french toast breakfast together. Mmmmm - which was left overs for two more meals. We loaded up the Blazer with some boxes to take over to our new place. We aren't officially moving in until beginning of June. But the new apartment is available and we are able to take over all our stuff over this month, which is wonderful! Aubrey and Davin came over to see it with us - we're still very excited about the new place!!!!

Our new place - is a split level house in Orem, so it's technically a basement, but not that bad at all. 3 bedrooms - the master bedroom is a very good size, the other 2 are pretty small though. It has a gas fireplace in the living room - SO excited about that! perfect amount of storage space. A Garage spot! (seth is extremely excited about that), beautiful yard/trees/covered side porch with a grill and chairs, etc. Has a washer and dryer (my favorite feature), a dishwasher!! The only complaints I have is the oven is half the size of a regular one - oh well. And the shower - is just a shower, and kinda gross right now, but the owner is re-doing it so it'll be lots better I hope! With the cost of utilities and rent all combined - we'll be paying less than we do now - It's an AMAZING DEAL!! the house IS up for sale though. But we aren't too worried since it's a house built in the 70's and there are 31 other houses up for sale within a 1/2 mile radius. It's a block off of Center street and 800E in Orem. So we'll be closer to most of the places we go to now, especially Pleasant Grove where most of the family is. It feels so great to be able to move and have a change. We will miss our neighbors and the friends we've made in the ward, but I'm not too sad other than that - to leave Wymount.

Saturday night Seth rented a Xbox 360 game and I started a new project. Just fixing up a super old bulletin board I've had in my possession for Years - and haven't used. Now, after it's done I think I'll use it for something. At least put it up on a wall in the new place so it's more home-y feeling. We have a lot of walls to cover in that new apartment! I need to get some more ribbon to criss-cross the ribbon I have on there already (it's a dark brown ribbon). I like it! I'll have a better picture when it's done.

Sunday morning we went to a baby blessing, Seth's cousin Hillori had her little girl blessed. We went to their house afterwards for lunch. It was so great to finally meet a lot of the Burke Cousins I've never met before! I've had to miss out on the last party/gathering they did last August, as I was home dealing with the wonderful side affects of the methotrexate shot I had to treat the ectopic pregnancy - oh, great memories.

Sunday afternoon we last minute decided to join the rest of the extended family up at Primary Children's Hospital to see/visit/play with Alec, etc. Alec had surgery this morning at 8:30, he got out at 1:30 and is currently in the ICU. I haven't heard how the surgery went though, I'm hoping all went smooth. It was so great to be up there yesterday though. Alec is a stud. I'm sure he was exhausted and drained, but he seemed just as happy as ever and played cribbage with his uncles/grandpa/dad while the rest of us took over the big table to play Nertz. We got a whole conference room to ourselves that was down the hall from Alec's room. All the little cousins were in Alec's room with him the majority of the time laying on his bed with him and spread out in chairs watching a movie. It was a great sight to see!
Here is Seth and I with Alec right before we headed back to Provo: I'm doing well. . . I had more lab work done today. We'll see what the levels are again right before my doctor appt tomorrow. I'm grateful my mind isn't constantly on the pregnancy and worrying, etc. And grateful Seth has kept his spirits so high and reassures me we'll be just fine and the little "glob" in me will become a baby soon enough... Hope everyone is having a happy Monday! I'll be totally fine with this week speeding by like last week did in order to get to the weekend faster. We sure do love the weekends!
Oh - one more story. Last Tuesday when Seth and I got back from the temple we found this:

It's not the best photo, but Raja got hungry and tore up the bag of food that we failed to put out it in the pantry - out of her reach. I don't understand why she had to tear open every corner of the food!?!?!?!Why didn't she just stop at the first corner she broke into and eat through there!?! I think she just had fun with the whole thing, since there were papers and pieces everywhere - she's a tiger!

It was good to hear that you had a good weekend and were able to go to the baby blessing. Julie got invited too but Dean's brother was blessing his baby so they drove up there instead (although I am sure she would have rather been with you guys). I'll be anxiously awaiting more news.
