Late Update: Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was last week, and it was a blast. My parents and the youngest Hartley (Kara) came to UT to visit for the whole week! I loved having my parents here, and especially had fun time with Kara. I don't think I've laughed that hard, so often in a looooong time. We didn't do anything extreme by any means, but it was just a week of daily quality/visiting family time. We did a lot of shopping here and there to prepare for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving day was great. Aunt/Uncle Greg and Aunt/Uncle Brad brought their families and Aubrey/Davin and Amy (Seth's sisters &bro in law) all gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's in Pleasant Grove. We had an amazing turkey dinner. I got full too fast, it was so yummy though. Most of us then played fat dog for a bit and later had amazing homemade pie by Melissa, Pecan/Pumpkin/Apple - they were all simply delicious. We played some really fun large group games later. Bingo was one of them, and another two I don't know the names of but they were pretty fun.

One Large group game is worth explaining... you should try it, it was pretty fun!
Point of the Game: is to get everyone on your team. You get someone on your team by correctly guessing their made up name.
-Everyone picks a name, it can all be random made up names, or famous people names, etc. For example: I chose Madonna and Joe the Plumber for the two games we played.
-Don't show others your name. Everyone puts it in a bowl of some sort. and someone who is not playing reads off the names to everyone.
- One person starts by asking someone if they are one of the names that was just read. If they guessed correctly that person is on the asker's 'team'. And the asker becomes a team captain. If the guess is not correct, that person (who was asked if they were someone) then guesses another person's name. Confusing, I know.
- In order to get a team onto your team you must guess the team captain's name. Eventually all teams become one as everyone guesses each other's names correctly. Teams can converse and decide together what to do when it is their turn. the tough part is remembering all the names that were read off in the first place!

It really is a lot of fun. If I didn't make sense - let me know if you are wanting to play it. The second game we played there were 3 teams left at the end. . . tyler, Me and Grandpa as team captains. My team was discovered and we all joined Grandpa's. . . We all had noooo clue who he was, no one could remember what name hadn't been discovered already. It turned out that he was Santa Claus. I'm sure you had to be there... but it was pretty hilarious when we all found out.

Friday morning I did get up and do some Black Friday shopping. Seth got to Sears by 5am to get his Craftsman cordless drill that came with a bonus nice flashlight for $40. He's been needing one for a while so this was a fantastic purchase for him! I was on the road by 4:20am headed for Wal Mart in Lindon. I got there about 4:45 and the parking lot was full. I got the 6 copies of Kung Fu Panda and 2 Ironman ($9) that I was going for. Plus a $49 Fabreware 12 pc set (pots and pans) with an 8pc bonus (pie pans, cookie sheets and utensils/knives). It was a fantastic deal! That was the big item on my wish list for Christmas. It is so much better than the crappy set I've dealt with the last 2 1/2 years. Which flaked Teflon off into our food probably every time we used it. . . Yea, we'll probably die of cancer in 15 years - It's pretty bad!! Mom and Kara met me at Wal-Mart and bought a few things as well.

After a 45 min nap at gma's we went out with Melissa to JoAnn fabrics. Kara and I were SO slap happy... it was seriously bad. The most random things would make us laugh hysterically, it was Way Out of Control! I am very proud of my purchases though. I spent $60 (saved $94!) on: Fabric for the backing of my jean quilt and batting (that I started 2 years ago), A beautiful angel for the top of our beautiful Christmas tree (Kara named her Bertha, and unfortunately it stuck), Scrapbook paper/alphabet stickers/a circle cutter/replacement blades (that were all on my 'need' Scrapbook list, Christmas tins/ribbon, and a paper piercer! It was a great day for me at JoAnn's.

Melissa bought lots of SUPER cute little boy fabrics. She's going to make patch quilts and receiving blankets. they're going to be adorable. They just found out last Wednesday that they're expecting a boy - yay! I'm very excited for them. Next April I'll be an aunt of my first nephew. When Ben called to tell me I could just hear tons of excitement in his voice, I'm sure he'll enjoy having another boy around the house.

I also went to Seagull Book and bought some cute Christmas books to add to our Christmas Story Basket under our Christmas Tree. I got another pad of Scrapbook paper for cheap and Christmas presents I can't tell you about! I loved the shopping, and am totally a fan of waking up that early to get good deals. But I so was not a fan of the INSANE-ness at Wal Mart after everyone was going for what they wanted. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!
