My Brother Garrett

I love my family, we have so much fun. There are seven of us and I'm the third. I don't feel that I know the younger ones very well anymore because I've been away from home for so long. In particular, I don't have much contact with Garrett - probably because he's the only one without a cell phone. This picture of him is from our annual Hartley Redneck Roundup, we got to a shooting range and shoot at targets. I love talking to him or hearing Garrett Stories. It's been a while though. . . Mom called me last night to share a Youtube video one of Garrett's friends made for a school project. It is HILARIOUS. if you search "soul skater" and "family" you'll be able to find it, but here is the link as well: http://youtube.com/watch?v=r5DPmrkJu9A. If you watch the video, he is the one with the colorful outfit (yellow/blue/red jacket) - he gets his clothes from goodwill (DI) if you'd like to try his style out. What a stud.

After watching the Youtube show last night mom and dad each told me the latest 'garrett stories'. Here are the latest. . .
1. He's playing tennis (has never had lessons or really played before in his life - he just has a goal to play every sport the high school offers) at City High this season. At his tennis match last night mom and dad sat amongst many of Garrett's friends - which is like half the crowd b/c he's the stud of City High as it is. And everyone's cheering "go Garrett!" "Keep your chin up, you're doing fine" , etc. . . and then he hits a 'wild ball'and it goes out of the court or something and Garrett just stops everything, walks over in front of mom in the audience and just stares at her. . . "I'm sorry mom." Everyone was laughing, coaches/refs/opponents. . . hilarious.
2. The family was all playing the family card game - nertz at the kitchen table a few nights ago and somehow mom's chair got over Garrett's toe and it got smashed. He was in a ton of pain and rolling on the ground and whatever. He finally just stopped and cried, "All he wanted was some roast beef". (this little piggy went to the market. . . this lil piggy had roast beef. . . this lil piggy had none) Who knows where his stuff comes from!? He's a fun one to have around though.

did you hear about the film festival? I wasnt able to watch the thing on youtube before they took it off, since they didn't want everyone to see it before the film festival. Anyway, if you haven't heard the story yet, you should call home!
