Unsicker Christmas Party

Saturday night was the big party! All of us Utah Unsicker related people migrated to Grandma and Grandpa's in Pleasant Grove. We Had a fabulous dinner... everything looked amazing! The place settings were very decorative and perfect! We each had little presents at our place, and we were eating at assigned placed. I got to sit by Hayden and Riley. And Seth was in the other room... so I really 'branched out'... :)
Before dinner though, we all were down stairs for appetizers... lots of goodies to eat! Grandma gave us all a welcome speech and we had prayer on the food... Each table even had a designated server.
After dinner and mingling we acted out the nativity scene. Aunt Natalie did an amazing job coordinating it! Many were involved... Seth and I were asked to be Joseph and Mary. I was honored. I don't think I've ever had that opportunity... We all got dressed up and started the performance. It really was pretty neat. Uncle Greg started, as Gabriel he bore his testimony and explained what the Angel told Mary and Joseph, how he felt etc. And then Uncle Andy, as the donkey, told us how he felt bad for Mary - 9 months pregnant to have to ride on a bareback donkey. And bore his testimony. Seth and I then went to the front and Seth bore his testimony. And told his feelings of how Joseph wanted to make the journey as comfortable as possible for Mary. And how there was no room in the inn, and the different difficulties. I enjoyed his testimony. Adam bore his testimony as the inn keeper. I bore testimoney of Christ, and also shared a special story from my mission on Christmas Eve - meeting a little girl name Mary who believed in Christ, but couldn't go to church because her parents were not interested. (And I just want to say, I was super tired!! b/c we stayed up the night before and we were running errands like mad all day. So I got very emotional and I hate it when I get that emotional - cause I can't talk!! I'm such a baby...)
Then... The shepherds joined us... Uncle Brad, Andy, Devry and Cousin Alyssa all bore testimony. and taught us what it was like for the Shepherds and what it all meant. Then the wisemen: Tyler, Chad, Austin, and Riley bore their testimonies. I really really enjoyed hearing everyone's testimonies. And especially the wisemen's testimonies - each of them touched simply on very neat and great points. Tyler testified we all have gifts to give to Christ. Chad testified of the sacrifices given that night, and how we too can sacrifice much to carry forth our missions in the Plan of Salvation. Riley testified of Stars, and that there are many in our lives that we can focus on and follow to find good. Austin told how the wisemen met with Herrod on their journey, and Herrod asked them to come back to tell him where the Savior was born so he could worship him as well. He testified that we have a choice, and to discern between good and evil, and to choose the right.

It really was a wonderful evening! Tyler, Breanne, and I all went straight for upstairs after the nativity. We have started a tradition - to steal the moose that is kept on the top of a decorative ledge high up in the living room. It's a gold moose with huge antlers. Gma had Garrett climb up there and put a very fancy Christmas bow around his neck over Thanksgiving. Anyway! We stole it and put it in their walk-in closet. It looked pretty sweet in there.
I let Heather know that Devry may need to help them get it back up there after they discover it. I'm not sure what Gma's reaction was but I've heard a few things. That she accused Riley (who ratted Tyler out), and the Anderson boys. And that at midnight there was a nasty scream. She walked in the closet with the lights off. I heard she thought there was a bird in there too... It was all pretty funny though!
