Seth and Megan

Hello family and friends! I think once I get the hang of this blog stuff I'll have a lot of fun with it, but it is kind of taking me a bit to figure it all out. But! for the first post of the Meth page (Megan & Seth put together = Meth: Just can't get enough) why not tell "our story"??

I am from Iowa City, Iowa - born and raised. I graduated HS in 2001 and went out to BYU where I decided to major in Youth Leadership and minor in Music. After my Sophomore year I decided to serve an 18 mo. mission and was called to Hiroshima, Japan. (LOVED it, loved it all!). I served from 10/03 - 4/05. I came back and went right back out to school for two more years of college.

Seth was born in Waterloo, Iowa but grew up in Arizona and Michigan. He is the oldest of 3 children of Steve and Sandra Burke of Howell, MI. He grew up taking good care of his two younger sisters, always played so nice ;) He graduated High School in 2002 as a Howell Highlander. Seth attended a local community college for one year and then left on a two year mission in November 2003 - 2005. (We were in the MTC together! We didn't know each other though). He served in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Towards the end of his mission, his mom 95% applied to BYU for Seth and he was enrolled in classes to start Winter 06 semester.

So! Seth's cousins (Oesterle's of Waterloo, IA) are actually good friends of my family who are from the old Cedar Rapids Stake. Heidi Oesterle and I knew each other well through stake activities growing up. We frequently carpooled to and from BYU and home after holiday breaks, etc. I needed a ride back to Provo after Christmas 2006 and had arranged to go with Heidi again. She called me the night before and explained her car was kind of full, but she had a cousin from Michigan who just got off his mission and was planning to follow her out west and start school at BYU - and his car was empty. :) The rest is history! My parents drove me up to the Oesterle's early Saturday, Jan. 7th morning and I met Seth who gave me a non-stop great conversation 18 hour ride to Utah. We became great friends, no sparks right away or anything, just great friends. Of course when he got to Provo it was his first time in the location and didn't know where anything was. So he would call me the night before classes started and asked me to walk him around campus to show him where his classes are. Or where the grocery store was... and a few more times to the grocery store, etc because it's hard to find your way around a new town for the first few weeks :)

I might as well go on and tell you the whole story...

We started dating 2 weeks later of lots of fun activities, etc. We held hands for a few days and then Seth asked me on our first real date to the Malt Shoppe. And at the end asked "Will you be my girlfriend". ((those were his exact words :)
ha ha ha - love you babe!)) - and we became 'official'. We had a such a fun courtship! We dated for 7 1/2 months before getting engaged on September 22. We got married November 25th, just two months later. Our mom's miraculously pulled off an absolutely beautiful wedding and parties in such a short amount of time.
It was my last semester of classes before moving on to my senior internship. It was my best semester at BYU (grade wise) and the worst yet for Seth. And I was the busy one with the wedding plans :) he was just too distracted with who knows what. However, he did do better than me that semester in one thing - Marriage Prep Class. Yes, he got a whole grade higher than I did in that class, we think that's pretty funny.

I think I'll save the wedding/honeymoon coverage for the next post. I've had enough fun for my first posting experience!

When you said that Seth's cousins are actually friends of yours... why didn't you say that one of your cousins is also your sister?! Are you ashamed of our relationship?
I'm with Abby, Thegan sounds a little more like you. I always though of you as one that avoids the appearence of evil.

I figured I'd get more attention with 'meth'... I probably show up on some Homeland Security list as a high-risk profile. ha ha... thegan is cool though, we may adopt it in the future... ;) but c'mon how's my blog - how did you get the stuff on the side of yours Slish? the 'where I live' pictures and the friend's list?

You really should start posting more stuff...
When your in "Dashboard", go to "Layout", then "add page element". There are lots of options there. I think that where they show up depends on your template, but still that is where you get all the added stuff, besides just posts.
