This week: 2 dress rehearsals, and 2 concerts. This semester I was a part of the BYU University Orchestra. Last night was our concert. I know, I know... I should have posted about this before the concert so if you had known, and you're close by, you could have come. I'm sorry! I wish I was thinking about it before, because you missed out. :)
Last night we played 5 pieces. I really enjoyed most of the songs we played this semester. Especially the last movement of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. I did well on all the parts that were critical. It wasn't the best I've played the solo excerpts, but it was satisfactory. Seth came, with Aubrey and Davin too. I was glad they came to support me. I'm sad that is most likely the last time I'll play with a BYU ensemble. It was a lot of fun.
I've also been practicing with the Pleasant Grove community Orchestra for their Christmas concert which is this Friday at 7:00pm at the Pleasant Grove High School Auditorium. We are the pit orchestra for the community choir who is singing Handel's The Messiah. Yes, it will be a long concert... but it is a 'sing-in' so you could totally bring that Messiah Script that's dusty sitting on your book shelf and sing along with the choir. :)
