It's Monday - BLAGH! This weekend went by way too fast, but that just means it was busy funness, yes - funness.
Friday was payday! YAY!! We went grocery shopping when I got off work and picked up some Chinese for dinner. mmmmm We went to Comedy Sportz later that night with Davin and Aubrey (seth's sister & Bro-in-law). It was way super funny and so much fun. They did a very good job, we all had tons of fun.
I covered a co-workers shift Saturday morning, so we were both working 8-12 and then almost the rest of the day I just vegged. Seth took a test, and did very well - I am so proud of him! And we put off writing our talks as long as we could. Ben, Melissa, and Olivia (Megan's brother and sis-in-law & neice) were in town and we went out to Smokehouse for an early pizza dinner. The pizza was very different and so yummy, I hope we go again soon.
When we got home I locked myself in the bedroom with piles of books and talks I had read throughout the week to prepare my talk. We spoke on "baptism and membership in the kingdom". You would think after serving a mission, not only would I be comfortable giving a talk - but even more comfortable about giving a talk on Baptism! But no. . . I still got as nervous as ever, and Seth didn't want to be around me because I was stressing. It was a good opportunity to see us in a position we had never seen each other in before. Ha ha, I wish I could have been like him who just whips out an outline on paper and then gives a very entertaining, enlightening, spiritual talk with scriptures, quotes, and stories. But no - I have to write it all word for word on paper because lets be honest - Megan does not speak very well as it is, let alone make sense when she is nervous and trying to talk. AND - have you ever heard her try to tell a story? yea - it's pretty hard to follow and it doesn't make sense. SO! I have write it all word for word, and practice it over and over so it's not like I'm straight up reading it.
A few friends came over Sat night and had fun doing whatever with Seth - and I was working on my talk. Seth had his done in like 45 min - and I took like 3 hours, sheesh. But Sunday rolled around and everything went very well. We both gave 15 minute talks, Seth's was more like 20. There was even a beautiful musical number in between and there was like 15 minutes left. So one of our favorites, Brother Reiser got stuck with the rest of the time and added a lot to the wonderful meeting. It was a great experience over all. I was really glad to hear Seth speak. It was the first time I had the chance to. He is an awesome speaker and of course, entertaining. I really enjoyed the stories/experiences he shared that I hadn't heard before.
We celebrated Sarah's (Seth's cousin)Birthday Sunday afternoon as well. She turned 20 on Saturday. I made Japanese Curry and we had rice, mmmm. And we did the whole cake/ice cream Shabang. Aubrey and Davin came over as well and we played Apples to Apples. It was super fun. We love having family so close. We have a new cousin in the family too! (second cousin I guess) Drew and Stormi had their baby boy (in Hawaii) on Saturday, super exciting.
And that pretty much sums up our weekend. It went super fast, and we're glad it was full of fun times.
