Well, I have never really been a huge fan of Bridal showers. Then I decided to grow up and host one of my own! My friends Lisa (aka Huffy) is getting married in Salt Lake on the 16th, and last minute I decided to have a party for her last Saturday. I invited a lot of our old friends, many whom I haven't seen since last year. I didn't expect many of the 15 or so to show up, since the invitations weren't mailed within a week of the party :).
I made lots of fun stuff for the party, I was totally in the mood to go all out. So... I made a delicious punch - I definitely recommend it. I also made my first Cheeseball!! Woo hoo! It was so incredibly easy, and I am so proud of myself. Seth loves it soo much and all the girls thought I had bought it at the store - it is so yummy - so click here for that recipe. I surely recommend that. I also got some cheap chocolate from Wal-Mart and dipped some pretzels - it was great food. Oh! and I made some Pumpkin Cupcakes (Just a Pumpkin Bar mix, but I put them in cupcakes so that it'd be more 'accessible'. ) It was great food if I do say so myself.
So, the party was from 3-5... Everyone was trickling in until 3:30 and Huffy even got stuck in the Football game traffic, but made it at 3:30. Lots of people came!! Some even came later and we didn't have enough chairs so I borrowed them from the neighbors and a few had to sit on the floor. Heidi was in charge of the games for me (THANKS!!) and she actually interviewed her fiancee Nathan. He was so entertaining, the interview was hilarious. After Heidi would ask Nathan the question it would pause and Huffy would need to answer the way she thought he did in the interview. If she got it wrong, she would have to chew a peice of gum... She had to eat maybe 5-6 peices, but she did really well. You can totally tell they are a match made in heaven, they're so great for each other!!
Then we opened gifts, Nathan came by towards the end and played one more quick game with prizes. It was fun. Everyone stuck around to socialize a bit and once most of the group was gone... we turned on 'Mamacita". This is Huffy's most favorite song and she has quite the dance for it. It was all a blast and so great to see and visit with so many friends again. Whew, a success!
